What is the difference between occupational therapy and physical therapy?

The main distinction between physical and occupational therapy is that physical therapy focus on gross motor function, whereas occupational therapy focuses on using both physical and mental skills to perform daily tasks and functions. For example, physical therapy treatment may focus on managing and reducing pain on a recently replaced hip. Occupational therapy, on the other hand, may focus on improving functionality in said hip in order for the patient to complete daily activities (moving around the house, going for walks, etc.)
